Experience Authentic Community at Lifespring
At Lifespring, we recognize that each person has been created by God and thus designed with a desire for being connected with others. It is our passion to see this desire fulfilled through life-changing small groups. That is the reason we call them “Lifegroups”. They truly are places where you can connect with other people going through the journey of life. There is no greater joy then sharing the joys and trials of life with people who are seeking to bring out the best in you. We believe that being a part of a Lifegroup is more than just seeing “what you can get out of it”. We feel that you can contribute in the life of someone else also and that through those relationships, lives will be changed. Through the seasons of life, a Lifegroup can provide the accountability, community, and challenge to live out the purpose God has for you. Instead of trying to make it through life on your own, join a Lifegroup today and experience the power of doing life together.

The
Purpose of Lifegroups
Believers meeting in small groups have been
an important part of the Christian experience since the first
days of the Early Church. However, early believers got the idea
to meet in small groups not by accident. The Church had this example
established for her throughout the history of the nation of Israel
in the preceding centuries. Jesus himself modeled this integral
part of the Christian life when he established his own small group
of twelve disciples.
As the New Testament Church flourished following
the ascension of Jesus Christ and the arrival of the Holy Spirit
at Pentecost the importance of small groups were crucial for fellowship,
spiritual nourishment and the discipleship of new believers, who
were first called Christians at Antioch (Acts 11:26). Christianity
throughout the centuries has been legalized, persecuted, fought
over, controlled by religious leaders as well as governments and
then released and reformed during the Protestant Reformation,
lead by Martin Luther. Of particular interest to us was the Methodist
Revival that swept England in the 18th century lead by John Wesley.
As a result of this spiritual renewal Wesley firmly believed in
accountability through small groups in the home or elsewhere (which
he called “classes”) as a necessity for growth in
the Christian life.
Around the world today, as well as at Lifespring,
believers of many faiths participate in groups on a weekly basis
finding honest fellowship, spiritual accountability, bible study,
prayer, dialogue over important issues, and support for each other
in the successes and trials of life.
It
is in this context that lifegroups are being established at Lifespring.
We wish to provide the opportunity for believers to continue the
pattern of Kingdom living modeled by Christ, of which small groups
is a vital part.
Childcare
Options
Childare
can often be a substantial barrier for some couples and/or single
parents becoming involved in a Lifegroup. We are so serious about
removing that obstacle that we have commited funds within our
church operating expenses to cover the cost of childcare for families.
Although some Lifegroups have been able to provide care for children
onsite by rotating a parent or other individuals out of the group,
most parents have found it best to leave children with a familiar
sitter at home or to pay for childcare for the group’s children
all a oto compensate for the extra expense incurred by participating
in Lifegroup. Please see Pastor Chris for more information or
get reimbursement form from your Lifegroup leader.
